DAP Summer Camp Registration

DAIRY POTTER

Dairy Potter was created and named in celebration of Earth Day 2026 at ISD International School of Dundee. The sculpture was originally part of the New York City Cow Parade and was later gifted to Ben Quesnel and Michael Manning while they were  working at Eastern Middle School. The Developing Artist Program was officially launched at Eastern, where Ben and Michael ran the Art Department together.

The cow spent several years there, often incorporated into observational drawing classes and fun installations. From there, it moved on to the Boys & Girls Club, particularly during the summer at Camp Simmons on Lake Avenue. Each week, the cow was painted and repainted, becoming an endless source of fun and imagination for kids from all around Greenwich.

The cow’s first appearance for Earth Day was last year at Old Greenwich Elementary School. At each location, it has been an instant success but, until now, it had never had an official name. After spending a wonderful day with the students at ISD, the idea was introduced to have them choose a name that could carry forward into future projects. And so, Dairy Potter was officially born, giving this special creation both an identity and a lasting legacy.

Inspired by its time at ISD, Dairy Potter will next travel to our upstate New York location, the ART06870 gallery, where it will be part of a weekend of art and community activities during Upstate Art Weekend.
